Mary is currently working as a primary teacher at a school in Balham. Alongside her teaching, she is the vocal coach and tutor at St Leonard’s Church, Streatham, and runs a private singing studio. Mary studied with Susan Waters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She is an alumna of The Sixteen’s coveted training scheme ‘Genesis Sixteen’, where she worked closely with Harry Christophers and Eamonn Dougan. Mary was brought up in Glasgow and was a chorister at St Mary’s Cathedral. On leaving school, she worked at Wells Cathedral School as a Graduate Music Assistant and Assistant House Parent. She sings with Scottish professional chamber choir, Caledonian Voices, with whom she has appeared as a soloist for: Handel Messiah; Bach St John Passion;and Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music. She is an experienced oratorio singer appearing regularly as a soloist for choirs in and around London.
Charles Andrews is a Liturgical Organist of the Temple Church, London and professor of organ and Organ co-ordinator at the Royal College of Music. Charles studied at the RCM with David Graham, Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin, John Barstow and John Blakely with the aid of a Douglas & Kyra Downie Award, achieving the Harold Darke Memorial Prize for organ.
Before joining the Temple Church Charles was Associate Director of Music at All Saints, Margaret Street in the West End of London from 2011-16. Recently four live performances with the Temple Church Choir have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, including the first performance of Carmina tempore viri by Kenneth Hesketh (nominated for an Ivor Novello Award) in 2021. Plans for 2023 include recording works associated with Henry Walford Davies and George Thalben-Ball (former Organists of the Temple Church) as well as recitals in Finland and Germany.
